PNO Guidelines
Established to safely meet the safety needs of the children and staff
Ages:
Parents’ Night Out accepts children ages 6 months through 6th grade.
Time:
Generally, Parents’ Night Out will be in session from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. See yearly schedule for dates.
In the event the date needs to be changed, every effort will be made to contact parents who have made reservations by phone.
Registration:
Parents must complete a General GUMC child information form for each child. Reservation forms will be kept on file for church purposes only.
To keep our files current, you will be asked to complete a new form yearly. Please notify the PNO staff of any changes in information.
Reservations:
Reservations are required. The reservation deadline is by noon of the Wednesday preceding the scheduled Friday Parents’ Night Out.
Call 817/292-4551 to make reservations. If there are no openings, you will be placed on a waiting list at your request.
Cancellations:
Cancellations can be made without charge by noon on Friday of Parents’ Night Out.
No-shows will be charged a $5.00 fee payable upon arrival at the next Parents’ Night Out.
Fees (per child):
These are used to pay for the Parents’ Night Out staff, to provide a snack, and for craft supplies.
Payment can be made by cash or check and is due upon arrival.
- $25.00
- $30.00
- $35.00
Late Fee:
Because there is a minimal fee, we ask that parents be prompt in picking up their children. After 11:00 p.m., a late fee of $10.00 for every 10 minutes late will be charged. The fee is due upon arrival. Parents who are late picking up their children two times will be asked not to use our Parents’ Night Out program.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Sign-in & Sign-out Procedures:
Parents must sign their children in and out. Without notification children will not be released to any individual other than the parent.
Also, PNO staff may ask to see your driver’s license before releasing your child. Driver’s license numbers are required on the Parents’ Night Out registration forms for all persons authorized to pick up children.
For safety reasons, the staff of Genesis United Methodist Church Parents’ Night Out reserves the right to refuse release of any child to a person who appears to be incapacitated to the extent that he or she might be a danger to their child.
Health: (When not to bring your child)
- Temperature is 100 degrees or above.
- Child has been exposed to a contagious disease (chicken pox, etc.)
- Child has a runny nose with green mucus.
- Child has shown the following symptoms during the last 24 hours: vomiting, diarrhea, eye infection (i.e., pink eye).
- The PNO supervisor for the evening will contact parents and request immediate response if any of the above symptoms occur during the session or if the child becomes inconsolable.
Injury:
Injuries requiring more than a hug and band-aid are to be reported to the parents.
In case of injury requiring immediate medical attention, parents will be notified immediately.
Medication:
No medication will be given or medical procedures (except emergency procedures) will be performed by Parents’ Night Out staff.
Discipline:
Discipline must be individualized and consistent for each child, age appropriate, and directed toward teaching the child acceptable behavior and self control.
We will only use positive methods of discipline.
If extreme, inappropriate behavior is exhibited, the parents will be called.
After 3 phone calls to parents, the parents will be asked not to use the Parents’ Night Out program.
Snacks:
Light snacks are often, but children should be fed before they are dropped off for the evening.
Food allergies should be noted on the General GUMC Child Information form.
Belongings:
Please do not allow your child to bring personal toys. It is difficult for young children to share their personal things with others, and we wish to minimize conflict, arguing, and possible fighting over special belongings.
Please bring the following items each time you come (make sure that each item is clearly marked with the child’s name).
- Beach towel or small blanket to lie on
- Pillow (if desired)
- Diapers and bottles (if needed)
- Change of clothes in case of accidents
Thank you for allowing us to provide this service for you.
Your children are truly a gift from God!
