When is Worship?

Sundays @10:30am– Sanctuary

Currently, we have one Sunday morning worship service at 10:30am which you can experience online or onsite. Visit the home page to access Genesis UMC on  Facebook and YouTube.

What is Worship like?

The style of music is blended including everything from guitars and praise songs to traditional hymns and pipe organ. We follow the church calendar, so we celebrate traditions like Advent and Lent.

We celebrate Holy Communion on the 1st Sunday of the month. Communion is open to people of all traditions, ages, races, and nationalities. You do not have to be a member of Genesis UMC to participate in Holy Communion.

What should I wear to worship?

We, here at Genesis, don’t have a formal dress code. We want those who worship to be comfortable in what they wear, whether formal or casual as long as our hearts are wearing humility and are open to receiving the word of Christ.

What about my kids?

*CHILDREN AND YOUTH ARE ALWAYS WELCOME IN WORSHIP WITH THEIR FAMILIES. CURRENTLY THERE ARE NO SUNDAY MORNING ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN OR YOUTH DUE TO COVID-19 PROTOCOLS.*

We take our commitment very seriously to partner with families in the process of nurturing children into Christian faith. We believe it is one of the most important things we do as a community of faith.

What about after worship?

After worship, we ask that you stop by the welcome desk to receive more information about the church, its ministries, and pick up a special gift just for you. If you would like to learn more about future events, you can subscribe to our News & Notes weekly newsletter at the front welcome desk.

Where can I find more info about joining the church?

If you are interested in joining the Genesis family, there are several opportunities for you to do so. The easiest way would be to contact any of our Staff or our Pastors.

What are the expectations of members?

Members of United Methodist churches are asked to commit to the following categories of Christian living.
  • Prayers: Members commit to pray for our church, our community and our world.
  • Presence: Members commit to be present in worship and other opportunities where they can grow in their faith.
  • Giving: Members commit to financially support the mission and ministry of the church through regular and special offering.
  • Service: Members commit to find a place where they can serve and be a part of the work that the church is doing locally, regionally and around the world.
  • Witness: Members commit to living and sharing a life of faith that reflects their commitment to Jesus Christ.
